In the social media video, the Canadian actor sits on a sofa in a house, acting very vague about what he has planned for Deadpool 3, aka the first Merc with a Mouth movie set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Then inspiration strikes as Jackman casually walks behind Reynolds to go up the stairs....

The first portion, Borat’s American Lockdown, expands upon the portion of the film in which the COVID-19 shutdown forces Borat to room with conspiracy theorists Jim Russell and Jerry Holleman. A highlight within the original cut, Borat’s time with Jim and Jerry hilariously juxtaposes their bewilderment at Borat’s beliefs while they unwittingly spout their own baseless political claims. It was also interesting because it showed two American’s gracious and polite enough to invite a stranger into their homes, yet still so misguided and bigoted that they held racist views and a blinding personal hatred toward President Barack Obama....

The sequel picks up not too long after the ghastly events at the Overlook, which is destroyed in King’s version of The Shining. Danny continues to be haunted by the ghosts of the hotel, including one particularly gruesome old woman waiting for him in his bathroom. Sound familiar? While young Danny is ultimately able to banish this poltergiest (and others) with his Shining, an adult Dan Torrance still struggles with his past and the trauma left in the wake of his father’s violent legacy....

That puts the Special exactly one year and one month away from Doctor Who’s 60th anniversary on the 23rd of November 2023, when former showrunner Russell T Davies will be back in the driving seat and is expected to introduce Ncuti Gatwa as the 14th Doctor (as well as reintroducing a host of welcome and familiar faces). Thirteen is going out with a bang, by the looks of the latest trailer, which features regulars Mandip Gill, John Bishop and Jacob Anderson as Yaz, Dan and Vinder, alongside Jemma Redgrave as UNIT’s Kate Stewart....

Everybody says it, so it must be true. There’s no reason to even bother with watching the films anymore so long as we’ve been given the answer. You could stick Wood’s name on the credits for, say, Touch of Evil or Rashomon and people would still laugh at the films, because they stop paying attention at that simple Pavlovian trigger. Elvis really is a marvel in spectacle and indulgence—plus a breakout for star Austin Butler who is so superb as the titular character that Luhrmann more than once slips in footage of the real Elvis’ 1950s rock star career, as well as clips from his ill-advised detour in 1960s Hollywood… and few viewers ever seemed to notice! For all intents and purposes, Presley and Butler became interchangeable onscreen: the singer and the actor, merged as one....

For those who may not know, Fortnite‘s gameplay has long been defined by the ability to collect resources and use them to build massive defensive structures that also allow them to cover great distances. It’s hard to remember now, but there was a time when many people saw Fortnite: Save the World’s battle royale spin-off as a shameless attempt to cash in on an emerging trend. While the game’s cartoonish graphics and faster-paced combat certainly helped set it apart from something like PUBG, it was ultimately that building system that separated Fortnite from a considerable pack of contenders....

This is not to say writer-director Rian Johnson could predict Musk’s precise folly in decimating a popular social media app in only a handful of months....

Series Three dives back into the action around five years after the explosive events of the Series Two finale, beginning with Sergeant Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire) discovering the remains of a gangland murder victim in a drained reservoir, a discovery which will lead her all the way back to her nemesis Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton). Catherine still lives with her grandson Ryan (Rhys Connah) who’s now sixteen and working out what kind of relationship, if any, he wants with Royce, the man who fathered him when he raped Catherine’s daughter Becky....

Though Harlan Coben thrillers generally take place in the same recognisably middle class world of Range Rovers, gated communities and marble kitchen islands, his inter-connected Myron Bolitar series excluded, they’re not set in a shared fictional universe. The plots are standalone and aside from the odd cameo, the characters don’t as a rule cross over from one story to the next. Until now. Netflix’s two Polish Harlan Coben series – 2020’s The Woods and 2022’s Hold Tight, adapted from the 2007 and 2008 novels of the same names – both feature the character of Pawel Kopinski (Grzegorz Damiecki), the lead in The Woods....

In Marvel’s Hawkeye episode three, “Echoes”, we get to know Maya Lopez aka Echo and her right hand man Kazi, who are currently heading up New York’s Tracksuit Mafia for a mysterious crime boss, while the friendship and trust between Kate Bishop and Clint Barton grows. It’s a near-flawless episode of MCU TV that pits Clint’s deep psychological issues and murky past against Kate’s headstrong enthusiasm and kindness, and introduces the character of Echo in a way that slices your sympathies apart with a jagged edge....

King Richard, starring Will Smith, is set to arrive on HBO Max and in theaters on Nov. 19. The movie will tell the story of Richard Williams, the father and coach of tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams. Smith is already getting some early awards buzz for the role so Oscar-heads may want to check this one out. Aside from that, it’s a relatively light month for originals on HBO Max....

With just a quick glance at the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe trailer, it becomes quite clear that the series is not only a different take on the franchise, but a ground-up reinvention of the classic story—albeit one that, at the same time, has curated some elements from across its past iterations. While this particular take borrows the exact title of the fabulous-secrets-showing, disco-theme-thumping 1983-1985 animated series from studio Filmation, it also brandishes a technological sci-fi aesthetic that seems reminiscent of the 2002-2004 animated revival of Masters of the Universe from Mike Young Productions....

Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen King Viserys Targaryen, father to Princess Rhaenrya Targaryen and older brother to Prince Daemon Targaryen, is a “warm, kind, and decent man” who wants to do right by his family and carry on his grandfather’s legacy. Actor Paddy Considine, who also starred in the HBO miniseries The Outsider, plays this Targaryen patriarch. In addition to directing and writing, Carpenter—the son of a music professor—has composed or co-composed the scores for nearly all his films. The filmmaker revealed a natural instinct for music which resulted in classic cues like the theme from Halloween or the lesser-known but still recognizable stingers from Prince of Darkness or The Fog. Although Carpenter has remained involved in filmmaking to some degree—most recently as an executive producer and co-composer on David Gordon Green’s excellent Halloween sequel and the next two installments in the series—he has, in recent years, turned his attention full-time to music....
