Along the way, the makeshift team will encounter revenants, monsters, tribespeople, and other obstacles, while pursued by a rival boat operator (Paul Giamatti) and a malevolent German prince (Jesse Plemons) who wants to find the Tree of Life for his own nefarious reasons. And naturally, Lily and Frank themselves find themselves in a love/hate relationship as they barrel down the river, with their own secrets and hidden motivations coming to light as well....

But is it really? Putting aside the quality of the film itself (which, judging from the shellacking it’s getting from critics, is quite lacking), if Jurassic World Dominion performs up to the billion-dollar standards of its recent predecessors at the box office, or even comes close enough, it’s hard to imagine Universal Pictures wanting to turn off what has been a reliably powerful spigot of cash for nearly 30 years....

Netflix’s compelling French crime comedy-drama Lupin ended Part 1 on a hell of a cliffhanger. Yes, there’s Assane Diop’s (Omar Sy) son Raoul (Etan Simon) getting snatched by Pellegrini’s cleaner Leonard (Adama Niane) in the Maurice Leblanc-obsessed town of Étretat, though honestly that had been telegraphed throughout “Chapter 5.” The real stunner is when Officer Guedira (Soufiane Guerrab), perhaps the only person whose Lupin fandom rivals Assane’s, tracks down the gentleman thief and addresses him as, “Arsène Lupin?...

But one thing everyone can agree on? None of that was star Henry Cavill’s fault. Hell, other than Ben Affleck as Batman (another great actor and performance lost in a miasma of questionable filmmaking choices and behind-the-scenes drama), it’s tough to imagine another superhero actor who got a more raw deal than Cavill in recent years. Never mind the fact that Cavill looked like he stepped off a comic page, or that he seems like he could have been sculpted from a chunk of the Fortress of Solitude itself, he gave an utterly sincere Superman performance, with an underlying warmth that belied the grim tone of the films he’s starred in....

The famously spoiler-prone Mark Ruffalo may have let one new member slip while doing press for the latest MCU series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The series stars Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, cousin to Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner who gains her own hulk abilities after an accident. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Maslany joked that Ruffalo needed to make space for the newest jade giant, and asked him to “give me one year” of being the main Hulk....
