A guitarist played at the first public projection of films made by the Lumiere brothers in 1895, and this quickly evolved into composed scores, and sound effects provided by theatre organs that could emulate pouring rain, thunder, the gallop of horses, and many more aural effects....

The film follows six long-time friends as they reunite a year after the death of the protagonist’s daughter and husband in a freak car accident. Sarah (Shauna Macdonald), who is still healing and trying to establish her sense of self now that her role as wife and mother is nonexistent, gathers with friends in the remote Western Appalachians to go on a caving trip that promises renewal, recovery, and, above all else, estrogen-fueled adventure....

The Expanse Season 5 Episode 10 So it turns out, it seems, that The Expanse season 5 was one giant setup for season 6, the show’s final run. There’s nothing wrong with that per se, especially since the season does resolve somewhat with the reunion of the Rocinante crew and with Avasarala’s return to power, but Marco is still at large in a severely damaged solar system — and the Martians are apparently just getting started....

Prey at Night tells the story of a family of four who leave their suburban home to stay overnight at a trailer park vacation spot while they wait to enroll their rebellious daughter in boarding school. While there, they are harassed by three masked strangers who have targeted them – and other residents of the area – for no immediately apparent reason....

Steven Knight, who’d worked with Hardy on Locke and Peaky Blinders, confirmed in 2019 that the season two scripts were almost written, but production was then stalled by a combination of the Venom movies and Covid-19. In November 2021, Hardy told Esquire that he was still weighing up the best options for a second season, meaning that we shouldn’t expect a follow-up anytime soon. In the meantime, much like Peaky Blinders before it, Taboo has found a raft of new global fans on Netflix, where this oddball drama continues to haunt the Top 10....

Now, just three years later, AT&T has apparently decided that WarnerMedia just wasn’t big enough. On Monday, executives at AT&T Inc. and Discovery, Inc. announced a deal that would combine WarnerMedia and Discovery into one entity that will be able to compete with the likes of Disney and Netflix. This new company (71% of which will be owned by AT&T shareholders and 29% of which will be owned by Discovery shareholders) could be valued at as much as $150 billion, which would place the new enterprise just behind Disney in terms of total assets....

That said, Thunder Force features one thing that myself and the internet simply cannot get enough of: Jason Bateman as mid-level crime boss Jerry the Crab, a dude with crab claws for hands. It’s exactly as goofy as it sounds. At one point, Bateman describes his Zodiac sign as being “you’d think Cancer,” then snaps his claws twice, before revealing that he’s actually a Capricorn. The scene then devolves into a not-particularly funny dream/dance sequence, but it doesn’t matter because I was still laughing at Bateman’s big meaty claws....
