The ancient Transylvanian Count has appeared in scores of films and TV shows over the years, but while there have been at least eight major, direct adaptations of Stoker’s novel, there has yet to be a version that can be said to be the definitive screen translation of the book. Part of the reason for that is its format: Dracula is an epistolary novel, told from the viewpoints of different characters largely through diary entries, journals, letters, and newspaper reports....

In the author’s own words, the seven volume series (of which six have been published) is about ‘a disease has hit the planet that only affects the older people. It kills most of them outright, and the lucky few who have been left alive are so badly disfigured by the disease, their brains and bodies rotted away, that they behave as classic textbook cannibal zombies. Gangs of kids try to survive on the streets of London whilst trying to rebuild a world without adults, whilst also trying to avoid being eaten by their parents....

Even the abandoned K·B Toys holds special significance for anyone who grew up in the 1980s, waiting for the store’s vaunted Christmas catalog to arrive....

Take, for example, another kind of cinematic superhero: James Bond a.k.a. 007. The MI6 spy created by Ian Fleming and brought to screen by Harry Saltzman and Albert R. Broccoli is timeless in the most literal sense of the world. Since Sean Connery passed the role of James Bond to Roger Moore for good in 1973’s Live and Let Die (Connery previously gave way to George Lazenby in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service before returning in Diamonds Are Forever), James Bond has become unstuck in time....

“I thought for sure people were going to get excited about classic movies if they watched Breakfast at Tiffany’s because it has so much life to it!” Malone says today. When Sony initially announced Horizon Forbidden West, audiences assumed it would only be available on the PlayStation 5. After all, the reveal trailer premiered during an hour-long showcase of upcoming PS5 titles. Audiences didn’t even know what the PS5 looked like until the showcase’s final minutes. Since that reveal, though, we’ve learned that Forbidden West is also coming to the PlayStation 4, which is good news for anyone who has yet to purchase a PS5 or can’t due to scalpers....

For those on the lookout for more exclusive swag than just the posters and stickers that other booths are handing out, the special superhero-themed Funko Pop that lies at the end of this particular adventure. All visitors have to do is snap a photo with their phone when they find one of the ten display boxes secreted around the exhibition hall. The boxes can be anywhere — a tee shirt vendor might have one, or there could be one tucked away in the corner of an activation from one of the many exhibitors attending New York Comic Con....

It’s been a while since we’ve had a new BTS-inspired webtoon, but the wait is almost over. Back in August, Korea’s Naver, who owns both WEBTOON and Wattpad, announced a team-up with BTS parent company HYBE, and ever since ARMY have been eagerly awaiting further news on what the collaboration might mean on the narrative level. Last month, during HYBE’s corporate briefing to “the community,” we got it, with the announcement of 7 Fates: Chakho, an original webtoon and web novel done in partnership with BTS....

The Yellowjackets finale may have left us with a million questions, but at least we know there’s another season full of answers on its way. Showtime has officially renewed Yellowjackets for season 2. It should come as no surprise considering the critical acclaim and social buzz the show has received since it premiered last November. “Yellowjackets has been an unadulterated sensation for Showtime,” said Showtime entertainment president Gary Levine in a statement....

According to TV Line, the season 5 premiere of Yellowstone had 8.8 million viewers just on Paramount Network. Viewership in the 18-34 demographic increased by 52 percent, the 18-49 demo increased by 22 percent, and the 25-34 demo increased by 13 percent. If you include data from the other Viacom channels like CMT and TV Land that broadcast new episodes of Yellowstone simultaneously, the season premiere had 10.3 million viewers total....

Young Justice Season 4 Episode 3 Let’s just get this out of the way now. The scene during the credits, where Superman is talking to Lois on the phone about baby Jon’s Kryptonian poop habits and his powers possibly starting to emerge, is the funniest thing Young Justice has ever done, from the subject matter to the voice acting – Superman screaming “CYBORG I NEED A BOOM TUBE” was a riot....

As we reconnect with Tallahassee (Harrelson), Columbus (Eisenberg), Wichita (Stone) and Little Rock (Breslin), we find them setting up camp in a deserted White House after 10 years of zombie killing and surviving on the road (the film avoids any time-sensitive jokes about who may have been living there last). Remember, one of the rules is that you use your city of origin as a nickname, instead of your real name, to avoid any personal attachments to people in these dangerous times....

A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting, adapted for the screen by Joe Ballarini from his middle grade book series, has its share of scares—especially in the film’s first few minutes. The movie opens on a little girl, Kelly, trying to fall asleep in her darkened room. Shadows dance and houses creak; it’s a familiar scene for anyone who has ever been a little kid afraid of the dark. But Kelly’s fears are valid....

It begins with absence and desire. It begins with blood and fear. It begins with a discovery of witches. At the start of A Discovery of Witches season one, the magical world was in crisis. Creatures – witches, vampires and demons – were in decline on Earth. The power of witches was waning, with some forms of ancient magic extinct for centuries. Vampires were finding themselves unable to sire other vampires....

Grrrngh, click, vroom. Hear that? The sound of a series revving out of the muddy furrow in which it’s languished for two episodes, and getting back on track. Episode three gave us much less Matthew in the tower, and much more Diana spontaneously sprouting tree branches from her fingertips and playing interdimensional cat’s cradle with the gleaming strings of life. Witch stuff, not spy stuff! And all the better for it....

Arrow Season 6, Episode 9 Oliver is his own worst enemy (and Felicity doesn’t help) in the mid-season finale of Arrow. This episode follows an unusual pattern for one containing a wedding – it’s dispensed with early on so that the real business of the episode can get underway, rather than being the moment of celebration and reflection at the end. The wedding is mostly useful for allowing characters to point out how weird it was for Ollie and Felicity to get married in the way they did, and for the CW to display how little it understands about weddings....
