Better Call Saul is finally coming to an end this summer, with the midseason premiere approaching on July 11. With that conclusion comes the burden of wrapping up the entire story of two shows, with Breaking Bad’s relevance to the plot becoming crystal clear. There are a lot of questions that need answering down the home stretch, so let’s discuss the ones that need more screen time than others to resolve....

In another universe, Chadwick Boseman got to enjoy the awards he earned. To be sure, praise was heaped upon the actor for his breakout role as James Brown in Get On Up and for playing the titular superhero in the culture-defining Black Panther. But major nominations did not come in until after Boseman’s shocking death at age 43 in 2020. Boseman’s final two live-action performances, as an inspiring leader of a Vietnam platoon in Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods, and as an electric jazz musician in the film adaptation of Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, earned nominations and victories for an Academy Award, a British Film Academy Award, and other top prizes....

The announcement came near the tail end of Marvel’s presentation during Disney Investor Day, in which the multimedia conglomerate plotted out its ambitious upcoming schedule of movies and TV series for investors (and the world at large). Feige set aside some time to honor the life and legacy of Boseman, who died this August following a protracted, yet mostly private battle with colon cancer. According to Feige, the sequel will acknowledge T’Challa while also taking time to “explore the world of Wakanda and the rich characters introduced in the first film....

The Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers movie is full of Easter eggs and references to not just everything under the Disney banner but a wide assortment of entertainment brands. The way it accomplishes this is a Who Framed Roger Rabbit? style plot where all animated characters are really actors, which leads to several sequences taking place at a convention center. Of course this being a Disney film you’d expect some references to one of the biggest entertainment juggernauts around, Marvel, but Rescue Rangers doesn’t go for an easy reference of fans simply walking around in Captain America cosplay....

Cryptozoo is set in 1967 San Francisco, a time of civil unrest, disobedience and oppression, and the cryptids are facing the same kind of suppression as hippies like Amber (Louisa Krause) and Matthew (Michael Cera), but on a far more mythic level. Military minds want to weaponize the cryptids, putting them in a prison camp, while they study what makes these things tick. Well-meaning and animal loving zookeeper Joan (Grace Zabriskie) and her assistant Lauren Gray (Lake Bell), prefer they are kept in what they see as a Garden of Eden....

The report comes from Game Informer editor Liana Ruppert who describes herself in the article as “someone that does have seizures myself due to an injury from my time when I was active duty.” She goes on to explain that her condition prohibits her from being able to play certain games and that she “suffered one major seizure” while playing Cyberpunk 2077. Sadly, Ruppert also revealed later on Twitter that some people have started sending her videos designed to induce epileptic reactions in response to her reporting on this subject....

Taking a seat in a room crammed with Den Of Geek and several other journalists from the likes of Bleeding Cool, Ask Men and The Sun, Craig seemed relaxed and confident – hair immaculately combed, his blue jacket emblazoned with a symbol stitched in gold thread, he still looked like James Bond, even if his responses were rather earthier than we might expect from the famously pithy agent. Bear in mind, then, that while the following round-table interview doesn’t spoil the events of Skyfall (due out on the 26th October), it does contain a bit of colourful language… There’s some intense action in this film....

Sort of. Death Metal is many things. It is primarily the capstone to Snyder’s decade driving the DC line, first as writer of New 52 Batman with Greg Capullo, then on All-Star Batman and the Dark Nights: Metal/Justice League/Death Metal Crisis triptych. It’s the culmination of his partnership with Capullo, whose collaboration and friendship with Snyder have forever changed Scott’s storytelling ambitions. And, as Snyder relayed to new DC EIC Marie Javins and Tynion in the panel, it’s a way to put DC’s history back....

The first film in 20 years from the master of marital strife thrillers, Adrian Lyne (who made Fatal Attraction and Indecent Proposal)! Deep Water should really have been a steamy romp, but instead it’s a bit of a wet fish. But wet fish can be fun too, and Deep Water at least contains twists, murders, and a “huh” ending (which is a bit different from the one in the novel – more on that later)....

Since this was the only upcoming Star Wars film with a confirmed release date, this now potentially leaves the franchise’s theatrical side in limbo. But if another rumor that’s spread through social media over the past few days is to be believed, there may be more to this delay than meets the eye. Take this next bit with a grain of salt… On Friday, Twitter user @BigScreenLeaks, who has recently scooped details about upcoming Marvel and Star Wars releases, such as the release date of The Book of Boba Fett trailer and the fact that Jared Leto references Venom in the Morbius trailer, claimed that a new Star Wars movie would film in 2022, and that it wasn’t a project announced at Disney’s Investors Day broadcast last year....

The short from 1949 was released in tandem with another short based on the Wind in the Willows. The combined films were released under the full title of The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, and that’s exactly what you have to type in to get it to come up....

There’s not much to write home about on Disney+ this month. Feb. 9 will see the arrival of The Book of Boba Fett finale so start getting your theory-makin’ brain ready for that. The only other original series of note is The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, a continuation of the early 2000s Disney Channel animated show. The biggest arrival to Disney+ this month might actually be a library title....

Australian retailer Booktopia has a 1000-piece adult coloring pad and puzzle currently listed for pre-order that showcases the Sorcerer Supreme facing off against a wide-eyed, tentacled creature that certainly looks like Shuma-Gorath, the Cthulhu-like demon from Marvel Comics. Leading particular credibility to this leak is the fact that Shuma-Gorath showed up not once, but multiple times in the first season of Marvel’s What If…? Shuma-Gorath first popped up in the What If…?...

Russell T Davies, for all his many virtues as Doctor Who showrunner, was pretty relaxed when it came to continuity. In his own time he had as intricate and complex a headcanon as the next fan, including some pretty elaborate theories on what happened to Torchwood’s rift and why the 12th Doctor looks like a Roman Pompeii survivor and that politician from Children Of Earth. But as showrunner, he was adept at bringing ideas to the screen, and allowing the continuity to then be argued over in the forums....

The big question for longtime Resident Evil fans with regards to Netflix’s new take on the franchise is whether or not it exists within the same canon as the games. Does this show continue or enhance the timeline of the video games in some way? The definitive answer is revealed in episode 7, “Parasite,” in which we learn that the show’s Albert Wesker (Lance Reddick), father to Jade (Ella Balinska/Tamara Smart) and Billie (Adeline Rudolph/Siena Agudong), is one of several clones the Wesker from the games made of himself....
