In the process of promoting his new Netflix gore-fest, Army of the Dead, Snyder takes viewers to “Snyder School” in an analytical video that looks back at the opening sequences from some of his past films, most pertinently, Watchmen. There, he confirms that one scene in particular from the film’s famously lengthy expository opening montage establishes a direct connection to the main DC Comics universe, specifically the existence of Gotham City, the wealthy Wayne family, and, by virtue of that, their son, Bruce....

The episode is centered on a McGuffin hunt for Gravitonium, an element SHIELD needs to make sure that the ominous breach into the fear dimension stays closed after last week’s struggle. Not that it ever left. Archer, FX’s flagship animated comedy, has run for eight years and racked up plenty of accolades and fans. Netflix has announced its expansion plans for, as the company puts it, a “Universe” of Snyder’s Army of the Dead, which, itself, is a sequel to his 2004 breakthrough, Dawn of the Dead. While Snyder—who directed and co-wrote the upcoming film—will certainly remain the creative fulcrum for the follow-up offerings, some interesting choices were made to handle the day-to-day duties. Attack on Titan produced eight OADs–Original Animation DVDs–that were bundled together with the anime’s manga releases between 2013 and 2018.
