Hmm, we thought we had it all figured out! We thought Moon Knight had settled into its groove as a globe-trotting adventure series in the vein of Indiana Jones or The Mummy. Sure, the show certainly had more mysteries to unravel, including Marc’s connection to Layla’s father and the third personality vexing him and Steven. And we expected that the show might jump from the Cairo setting of episodes three and four, in the same way it jumped from the London of episodes one and two, but we didn’t think the next location would be a mental hospital....

In Moon Knight episode 5, “Asylum”, we finally got to know Marc Spector, and the show was all the better for it. While the latest installment of the Marvel series didn’t fix all the tonal and structural issues it suffered with in its first four episodes, it did offer its audience an olive branch in the way of essential cohesion that was practically AWOL while we spent time watching Steven Grant’s bumbling realization that he was just one identity in a body that had been reformed to house at least two....

When it comes to comic book adaptations, the devil is in the details. So when Netflix debuted a live-action version of Daredevil in 2015, fans were thrilled to see a hard-edged take on the street-level hero. Between that show’s shocking violence and Charlie Cox’s soulful performance as the charming, but conflicted Matt Murdock, Daredevil’s 2003 big-screen misfire was all but forgotten. However, concerns bubbled up again in the long runup between Cox’s cameo as Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his in-costume return in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law....

Starring the great Lance Reddick as the classic Resident Evil villain, the series not only gives us a complete reimagining of the character as a family man but also introduces us to his two teen daughters, Jade (Ella Balinska/Tamara Smart) and Billie (Adeline Rudolph/Siena Agudong), who have their own issues to deal with, like having to upend their whole lives to move with their father to a place called New Raccoon City....

For its detractors, Spider-Man: No Way Home is less a movie and more two hours of fan service. These viewers argued that cameos from Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin, and Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as alternate reality Spider-Men drove the narrative to the detriment of the actual story. Well, according to New World‘s developers, the odds for a console/mobile port of New World are pretty much non-existent at the moment. I’ve often talked about wanting Power Rangers Beast Morphers to tackle some slightly weightier ideas. Not because I’m an adult watching this show and wanting it to reach my level but because that’s what some of the best kids TV is doing now. They present stories with complex themes that have the characters make unique and interesting choices that propel them forward. Critically though those themes can relate to kids....

During the middle of this much-hyped Power Rangers team-up episode Jason and the Dino Charge Rangers are walking in a quarry, trying to get to Evox so they can box him in as the Beast Morphers team goes around the other way. Jason says, “We’re gonna need to scale that cliff.” What a great scene that would have been; seeing Jason work with the Dino Charge Rangers to overcome a problem....
