There are many different genres of anime that have grown in popularity, but isekai series where characters are whisked away to fantasy worlds have become increasingly prevalent. It’s also become a growing trend to pair up the isekai genre with video game tropes to produce unusual hybrids. At this point, do I even need to explain these articles anymore? I do? OK, fine. I love superhero comics, perhaps a little too much, as you can probably tell based on what I do for a living. As a result, it’s not enough for me to just watch and enjoy a Marvel Netflix show like Jessica Jones Season 2. Nooooo…I must study every frame in the hopes of unlocking some piece of Marvel wisdom that would otherwise be lost to the ages or some such nonsense....

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Release Date Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a little while longer for another season. While MAPPA, the production studio behind the anime, has teased future episodes, a projected air date has yet to be revealed. Based on comments made by the production staff and how well-received Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 was, it’s almost guaranteed there will be a follow-up season at the very least. As for when, it’ll likely be after the prequel film is released....

How do you bring a comic book to life? It’s a question that studios have been struggling with since they first began making live-action superhero serials in the 1940s. Netflix’s newest comic book series adapts Image Comics’ metatext on the medium, Jupiter’s Legacy. Created by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely, the story centers on two generations of heroes. In its quest to bring this story to life, Netflix has enlisted costume designer Lizz Wolf....

Legends of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 8 David Ramsey, who played John Diggle for eight seasons on Arrow, is making the rounds on the current slate of DC TV shows both in front of and behind the camera. Diggle made his first post-Arrow appearance in Gotham City, in Batwoman, season 2 episode 16, “Rebirth.” But on the latest episode of Legends of Tomorrow, “Stressed Western,” Ramsey steps into the boots of famed Marshall Bass Reeves, and has a run-in with the Legends in the Old West....

That all happens in the first 10 minutes, before the title of the movie even appears onscreen. But since this is a thriller and it’s rated R, you know that the awe and wonder that our intrepid crew — led by Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson and Ryan Reynolds — feels is going to soon give way to terror and despair. As you might guess, the organism — named Calvin by a student back on Earth whose own school budget for science would probably be on the federal chopping block in real life at this point — is not only extremely adaptable but exceptionally aggressive when it comes to staying alive, much to the misfortune of anyone who comes in contact with it… as well as perhaps our home planet if it somehow finds its way from the station to the surface....

“But alas, the critical and commercial failure of the Tom Cruise-starring The Mummy movie, starring Sofia Boutella as the eponymous sarcophagus-dweller and Russell Crowe as the Nick Fury-Esque Dr. Jekyll, killed the whole thing long before it could even become a disappointingly dull cinematic universe like the other high-profile attempt to do the Avengers thing. Now, Mummy director Alex Kurtzman—who was also one of the architects of the Dark Universe itself—is speaking out about the film, telling the podcast Bingeworthy (via The Hollywood Reporter), ‘[The Mummy] was probably the biggest failure of my life, both personally and professionally....
