2014’s Ouija is unequivocally one of the worst attempts at horror from the last decade: incomplete, startlingly amateurish, and exceedingly dull, the franchise should have been dead on arrival. And yet, its box office success has led to this Halloween’s only major wide release thriller, Ouija: Origin of Evil, a loose prequel of sorts to the first movie. But the most shocking thing about Origin is that it kind of works....

But where does each season rank? With so many entries which ones stand as the best of the best of the best or which one and is a super mega dud? The highlight of Capcom’s brief E3 2021 presentation was a black screen with white text that informed the world that “By popular demand, development has just started on additional DLC for Resident Evil Village. More info later.” It’s not much to go on, but for millions of RE: Village fans (and I mean millions), it’s enough to be excited about. After all, Village featured a compelling cast of characters (with some exceptions) as well as a number of storylines that weren’t entirely resolved....

The PR assault before airing seemed unintentionally focused on inferring she was ‘feisty’, what with all the PR shots of her smirking down the camera like she belonged in the new Hollyoaks titles. But not only has she managed to avoid acting as her press shot self, she’s also sidestepped the potential minefield of trying too hard to be Rose....
Adult Swim has recognized this problem and is offering a solution. Rick and Morty season 5 is officially set to arrive on June 20, and the network has declared that now sacred date to be a multiverse holiday. Hopefully banks everywhere from Dimension C-132 to C-137 will be closed in observance! The main event on June 20 will be the premiere on Rick and Morty season 5’s first episode at 11 p....

Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 5 Things were going a bit to well for Andre Layton by the standards of Snowpiercer. Zarah’s pregnancy is getting close to the end. Layton has the train headed for New Eden. Wilford is in a coma state and safely out of the way. Ben has figured out a way to try and help Javi recover from his traumatic experience at the hands of Wilford, and everyone’s excited by the prospect of a new little Layton running around, fomenting revolution and causing trouble....
So here we are. Sons Of Anarchy series four comes to a close in the second part of the finale. I had expected that, given the build-up, the series would finish with a bang. Instead, it starts with a bang and finishes quietly with a terrible cutaway. If I sound slightly disappointed, then it’s because I am. The truth is that, while we’ve had a great series (it was definitely miles better than the third one), this finale seems to whizz through all the plot arcs, trying to close them – and the problem is that a lot of the conclusions aren’t very satisfying....
The historical montage which opens Soylent Green, based on real photographs from the 20th century, shows how industry and population colluded to form a dystopian future where too many people struggle for too little food, gag at the air, and wear masks on a daily basis. The face covering in the montage actually increases exponentially as the 20th century tumbles past into our own modern nightmares. Sludge and filth cover the perimeter of human existence in Soylent Green, and plague and famine eat humanity out from the inside....
After the wild success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, it’s possible that Peter Parker is enjoying an all-time high in popularity. Not only that, interest in the Spider-Man movies that came out long before the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now booming, with fans rediscovering their love for the Tobey Maguire era of Spidey history. If you haven’t checked out Sam Raimi’s original Spider-Man trilogy in a while, you’re in for a treat....
Star Trek: Discovery Episode 14 As much fun as the Mirrorverse was, it never felt like the story Discovery set out to tell. Now that the show is back in the Prime universe, the show is back to exploring what kind of Federation this alliance of species aims to be. It’s never been better in this second half of the season than in “The War Without, The War Within,” an episode that sees our heroes not shooting at something with the purpose of harming it, but shooting at something with the purpose of giving it life....
Star Trek: Discovery Season 3, Episode 6 If you want to understand how Star Trek has evolved as a franchise, look no further than “Scavengers.” The Star Trek: Discovery episode sees its main character, Michael Burnham, disobeying a direct order from her commanding officer (again) in order to go on a rogue mission with Emperor Georgiou to save her, ahem, friend Book and secure a pre-Burn Starfleet black box. It’s the sort of stunt Kirk pulled on the regular (and, yes, this includes Kelvin Kirk), and it’s the kind of stunt Kirk would have been celebrated for it—both within the world of the TV show or film and, more importantly, by the viewer....

Here are some that could fill in gaps in the Star Wars saga: Obi-Wan’s Relationship with Qui-Gon Jinn Ewan McGregor, now 48 years old, is the perfect—really the only—choice to play Obi-Wan between the prequel trilogy and the original films. His casting provides continuity from the Old Republic, where he trained Anakin Skywalker and learned Jedi philosophy under the maverick Qui-Gon Jinn....
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker brings not only the Sequel Trilogy to an end but nine movies’ worth of storytelling. As you can imagine, there are TONS of easter eggs, references, and callbacks to past Star Wars movies and the Expanded Universe (both Legends and Disney canon) woven into the tapestry of this latest installment. As I’ve done with The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, I’ve picked apart and dissected the film for all of its nerdy bits....
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Dawson indicated that she’s almost finished shooting the series. While that’s certainly good news for fans, Dawson revealed mixed feelings. “But it’s already getting sad because it’s almost over,” she said. But before dropping the subject, the actor did make a bold request. “Hopefully, we’ll get a sequel,” she declared, holding up crossed fingers for extra luck. At first glance, Dawson’s statement might seem like hubris....
