For starters, it’s clear that Wanda is experiencing a bit of a magical hangover from her Halloween barrier expansion. The clip also makes clear that Wanda is not going to let her sitcom world go without a fight. After beginning with The Dick Van Dyke Show in episode 1 and embarking through sitcom history to Malcolm in the Middle in episode 6, Wanda has finally arrived at the popular mockumentary era from the 2010s....

Warrior Season 2 Episode 1 Now that the Warrior world is established, the season 2 premiere concerns itself with more character development and the interweaving of story arcs. The action, however, is even more promising as the season premiere opens with (what else?) a fight scene. When we rejoin Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji), he’s getting beaten and bloodied again, locked in combat in a new no-holds-barred arena, the Barbary Coast Fight Pit, and flashing back to his brutal defeat by at the hands of Li Yong (Joe Taslim) last season....

It’s hard to say otherwise while watching the new Westworld trailer. There we again see the bright blue skies and wide open prairies that marked the first two seasons of the show. And it’s by far the best thing the sizzle reel. You see it hinted at as Bernard (Jeffrey Wright) stares at a burning tree under a blazing sun, and again in its more insidious form when an apparently still enslaved host offers an unseen visitor their choice of white or black hats....

I still doubt that we’ll actually see a full-on sequel to Morbius, but we definitely haven’t seen the last of Jared Leto’s Michael Morbius. Not if those end credits scenes are anything to go on. It seems pretty apparent that Sony’s master plan is to build up their roster of Spider-Man-based anti-heroes and funnel them into a Sinister Six movie, which in turn will be their version of the first Avengers....

Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will reprise their respective roles as Neo and Trinity for The Matrix Resurrections, which is directed by Lana Wachowski, who wrote the script with novelists David Mitchell and Aleksandar Hemon. The unlikely sequel is billed as a revival, not a reboot, and will also bring back Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe, Lambert Wilson as The Merovingian, and Daniel Bernhardt as Agent Johnson. Conspicuously absent from the list of returners is Laurence Fishburne, who also doesn’t know why he wasn’t asked to bring back Morpheus....

Over the years, Spider-Man did rejoin with the symbiote a few times, usually in the name of heroism. In Venomized, a Venom symbiote from another reality bonded to him for a little while. At the end of Dan Slott’s lengthy Amazing Spider-Man run, Eddie Brock let Spidey borrow the symbiote so he could fight the Red Goblin (Norman Osborn as Carnage). These days, Parker and his former tights at least have an understanding....

It’s hard to say exactly what Watts’ personal contribution was to the Spider-Man trilogy he just completed with Spider-Man: No Way Home; while all three movies are a blast (and easily the best screen iteration of the character yet), his directing style is fairly transparent. One could argue that he was in some ways a perfect Marvel “house” director, specializing in teen comedy yet coloring well within the lines of the established MCU templates....
