Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2‘s first sales figures are rolling in, and the early numbers are astonishing. In fact, publisher Activision Blizzard reports that Modern Warfare 2 is the fastest-selling Call of Duty game ever. The game has also reportedly earned over $800 million in retail sales alone during its first three days of availability. The only other game that can beat that three-day sales figure is GTA 5 (which earned an astonishing $1 billion during that same time frame)....

Some of the problems with Skyward Sword‘s motion controls come down to technical and design flaws that Nintendo really should have done a better job of addressing. Many felt the game’s opening segments inadequately prepared you for some of the more complicated motion control demands while others long believed that the game’s often imprecise controls were softly designed to encourage you to purchase a Wii MotionPlus. Mostly, though, the complaints regarding Skyward Sword‘s controls come from fans who bemoaned the fact that the game depended on them in the first place....

Young Justice Season 4 Episode 6 It doesn’t take a lot to bring me back in, and Young Justice: Phantoms found the sweet spot this week with “Artemis Through the Looking Glass.” It turns out all they needed to do was toss me a couple of crumbs of Cassandra Cain content and everything would be better. It helps that this week was actually animated. The story still feels rushed, but the kinetic energy of the show is back to its normal level....

Castle Rock Season 2 Episode 5 A year ago, I would have cringed at the thought of an Annie Wilkes origin story. Surely, a character as iconic as Stephen King‘s psychotic fiction fan needs no prologue in 2019. A ham-handed “Misery: The Beginning” Hollywood movie would almost certainly defile the character worse than when Paul Sheldon decided to kill off his most famous heroine. Yet, here is Castle Rock to prove me completely wrong....

Sabrina’s familiar is an American Shorthair cat named Salem Saberhagen. Created by George Gladir and Dan DeCarlo, Salem was introduced as an orange cat in in Archie’s Madhouse #22 in 1962. The cat kept its own tongue in the comics, and didn’t start talking or developing its cutting wit until later. In the comic series Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Salem was a witch who was stripped of his magical powers and sentenced to spend 100 years as a cat with no magical powers by the Witch’s Council....

Cobra Kai season 3 brought back several beloved characters from the original Karate Kid movies including Daniel’s first two loves, Ali (Elisabeth Shue) and Kumiko (Tamlyn Tomita), Daniel’s second major nemesis Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) and many more. In the process, however, season 3 also left some Cobra Kai characters on the sidelines. Fans sorely missed Aisha Robinson (Nichole Brown) and Raymond a.k.a. ‘Stingray’ (Paul Walter Hauser). Netflix has received quite a bit of criticism in recent years for everything from its overwhelming release schedule to its liberal cancelation policy. A polarizing Dexter finale is better than a universally derided one, right? Dexter: New Blood, the revival of Showtime’s hit drama, finished its run last night with a definitive ending that is leagues above the original swan song, but still controversial among the Dexter faithful. Once fans get over the shock that it’s a wrap for ol’ darkly dreaming Dexter, they’ll realize the serial killer’s fate in Dexter: New Blood was the only ending for the character....

The pair told CNET that after the Harrenhal sequence where we see Viserys Targaryen named the successor to King Jaehaerys, “[i]t seemed important that once the curtain went up, so to speak, having a title sequence felt like an indulgence. We wanted to get on and tell the story.” This is why we only see a brief golden dragon symbol on a black background as the score transitions and the story moves forward nine years into Viserys’ reign....

As the middle child in a run of Doctor Who specials, ‘Legend of the Sea Devils’ finds itself in something of an unenviable position. Much like Easter 2009’s ‘Planet of the Dead’, the episode can’t rely on the star power of foes like the Daleks or Cybermen, and people are already looking past it in anticipation of upheaval and an upcoming regeneration later in the year. Of course, the same was true of ‘The Waters of Mars’, and that more than earned its place in fans’ hearts thanks to its great premise and performances, so it’s still possible for a stand-alone story to surprise us if it’s told well....

Change has long been a constant of Doctor Who, and series 13 is no different. This time around, the changes have largely been rung in by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The virus has concertinaed the Doctor’s next arc, shrinking the new series down from a planned eleven episodes to eight. It’s also recently infected brand new companion John Bishop, who has been filming on the series since November (best wishes for a speedy recovery)....
