The new one is called They/Them, and it’s from Hollywood horror factory supreme Blumhouse, but it’s got an exceptionally modern twist (thanks to writer-director John Logan) on what quickly became a stale formula after Friday the 13th initially changed the game back in 1980. Bacon stars as Owen Whistler, who welcomes a new group of LGBTQ+ “campers” to his conversion camp with the promise that he’s not out to change any of them, their sexual preferences, or how they identify....

Tom Holland stars as the title character, a young Cleveland man who joins the Army after his girlfriend announces she is going away to college. He returns home from Iraq with PTSD, develops an opioid addiction, and eventually turns to bank robbery to support his habit. The often harrowing film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, making it the first motion picture directed by the Cleveland-born brothers since 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, the highest grossing movie of all time....

“The movie has been shot,” Troma co-founder Lloyd Kaufman tells Den of Geek. “I went over to Bulgaria, and it looks like they did a great job.” The co-director of the original, and co-founder of the iconic shoestring-budget Troma studio, found immediate improvements too. “The Toxic Avenger reimagining script is definitely better than the original Toxic Avenger,” he proclaims. Although the Bruce Lee-inspired Cinemax series Warrior is fiction, it is loosely based on historical events of San Francisco in the 1870s. Just as Nellie Davenport (Miranda Raison) is based upon on a remarkable San Franciscan heroine, Donaldina Cameron, the Season 2 Finale drops a bomb for one of the show’s central characters. At the end of the episode when Dylan Leary (Dean Jagger) declares “I’m Dylan Leary and I’m here on behalf of the Workingmen’s Party of California,” it’s a major tell....

Warrior Season 2 Episode 8 Review This episode’s cold open has Hong (Chen Tang) telling a story to Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji) and Young Jun (Jason Tobin) as they are eating. It’s a tale of a killer who uses violin strings as a weapon to explain why Hong uses his signature whip chain. Ah Sahm and Young Jun tease him by constantly interrupting his story and as the camera pulls back, we discover that they are casually eating over a pile of dead Fung Hai men....

The show’s 10-episode run averaged around 8 million viewers a week. That’s more than Showtime’s previous signature series, Homeland, and the 3 million viewers that watched the Dexter: New Blood finale helped the revival overcome Homeland season 3’s finale in 2013 to become the most watched season finale on the network....

When The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was first announced, the excitement among Marvel fans was palpable. Finally, a chance for both Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) to step out of Steve Rogers’ shadow and fully become their badass comics counterparts. We’d be exploring their characters at an ideal point in the MCU’s evolution, too. Both men wielded Captain America’s shield in the comics, but here Bucky and Sam would be attempting to make sense of their roles in a post-Cap world right along with fans who had already watched Steve Rogers’ story play out on the big screen as he went from an earnest and scrawny WWII soldier to a jaded “war criminal” who opted for early retirement....

For anyone following along, the show’s creators have already tipped their hands. It opens the portal to the Miyagi-verse. “It’s a ginormous universe,” teased Josh Heald, one of the show’s creators. Heald spoke to Den of Geek last year right after he and his two creative partners, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg renewed their contract with Sony. Their deal lasts for four years. And relevant to this new film, that deal included spinoffs and other offshoots of the Cobra Kai and Karate Kid universe, which Heald dubbed the ‘Miyagi-verse....

World of Warcraft‘s recently revealed Dragonflight expansion promises to offer quite a few new things. It features a new race (the Dracthyr), enhanced dragon-riding controls, a new progression/skill tree system, a new ranged damage spec, expanded profession options, and all the new content you expect from most WoW expansions (new zones, fresh raids, a raised level cap, etc.). In another time and a different place, Dragonflight would be exactly the kind of expansion that would either keep you addicted to World of Warcraft or lure you into the game’s compelling clutches if you’ve either never played it or haven’t played it in a while....

World of Warcraft‘s Dragonflight expansion is here, which means that new, returning, and veteran players are desperately trying to reach Level 70 as quickly as possible in order to finally start playing the game. Thankfully, it won’t take them too long (at least by WoW standards) to hit that new level cap. World of Warcraft‘s Dragonflight expansion looks to restore a little lost glory to the most successful MMORPG series ever. While it remains to be seen if the expansion will live up to the hype, you won’t be able to start your own Dragonflight adventure until the expansion is properly released. World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is scheduled to be released on November 28th. While parts of the expansion have already been released via pre-patch updates, you won’t be able to access Dragonflight‘s full suite of features....

The black and white video features the inspiration for the title character, Patti D’Arbanville, an actress and model best known for her work with artist Andy Warhol. She also appeared in Real Genius, Time After Time, and played Cathy Smith in the John Belushi biopic Wired. She was Stevens’ girlfriend at the time, and also the inspiration for his song “Wild World.” “Lady D’Arbanville,” which imagines her sleeping, is a metaphor for her being dead....
