That all seems fair enough. Black Adam has a hill to climb as a movie based on one of the more obscure characters in the DC pantheon, not to mention one of the less explored corners of the DC Universe as a whole. Still, Warner Bros. is betting big on both the film and Johnson’s star power, not to mention the actor’s willingness to promote the movie as something that will restore the DCEU to a state that fans will embrace....
George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road is simply one of the best movie reboots/resurgences of all time. The film was such an instant classic, in fact, that it garnered six Academy Awards in 2016 and has placed on countless Best-of lists since its release, including our ranking of the Best Sci-Fi Movies of the Last 15 Years. Speculation of a sequel to the Tom Hardy-led revival bubbled up immediately, and while a Hardy return isn’t on the horizon just yet, what fans do have to look forward to is Furiosa, Miller’s prequel focusing on the rebellious Imperator from Fury Road who helped take down the tyrannical Immortan Joe....

And yet, by the time Harold Ramis tragically passed in 2014, the likelihood of ever seeing the four original Ghostbusters standing side by side seemed impossible. Which is one of the reasons Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife is such a surprise....
Long story (and game) short, it will take most players around 30 hours to beat God of War Ragnarok. At the very least, it will take you about that long to see much of what the game has to offer. It took our gaming editor about 32 hours to complete the story and many of the game’s side quests the first time around on “standard” difficulty. Sites such as Forbes and Eurogamer took around the same amount of time (30 and 35 hours on default difficulty, respectively) to beat much of the game....
As the shortest of Legendary’s MonsterVerse movies, Godzilla vs. Kong is also the slightest, with a multitude of humanoids running around shouting about Hollow Earths and gravitational inversions. But the viewer never loses the thread, even when the movie does: they’re merely ants scurrying over a framework which has been heavily tinkered with in post-production. As a consequence, the speaking characters have never been less engaging in the four MonsterVerse movies....

According to Variety, the previously announced Grease spinoff, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, will be moving to Paramount+ from HBO Max. Paramount+ is the new streaming brand from ViacomCBS, which will be taking over for CBS All Access next year. HBO Max is the recently launched streaming concept from WarnerMedia. The news comes almost a year to the day after the spinoff was originally announced. The move appears to be a natural fit as Paramount Television Studios is the studio behind the project to begin with....

The entity now known as Zach Snyder’s Justice League will premiere on March 18. While it was originally planned to be a four-part miniseries, this recut version of 2017’s ill-fated Justice League will in fact be a four-hour movie. But perhaps even four hours won’t be enough for fans who have been waiting years for just such an event. If the Snyder Cut is not to your speed, there are plenty of other (and shorter) options on HBO Max in March....
From director Mark Waters, this update, a gender-bent response to 1999’s iconic She’s All That, features a young influencer who, due to the live broadcast of a messy breakup with her budding rock-star boyfriend, loses her sponsorship (and is outed as the poor girl she truly is). The only way to get her sponsor back and save face is to prove she’s the makeover queen, able to make over any boy at their school the way she sculpted her ex’s image....
While the tradition K-drama model is a one-and-done format, with one full story spanning an entire season and coming to a definitive conclusion, Hellbound feels different. The Netflix series ends on a massive cliffhanger that puts all of the supernaturally driven deaths that took place over the course of the first season in a new light. I’m referring, of course, to the apparent rebirth of Park Jungja. In the first season’s final moments, the woman and mother who died at the hands of the terrifying monsters apparently sent by God is brought back to life in the place that she died....
For those who don’t know, High on Life is a new action game from developer Squanch Games. If that name sounds familiar, that’s because Squanch Games was founded by Justin Roiland: the co-creator of Rick and Morty. Indeed, early previews of High on Life gave the distinct impression that it was actually some kind of Rick and Morty game. It’s not, though Roiland’s voicework and the game’s sense of humor will both be familiar to fans of that series....

Literally speaking, Jamie is hardly the biggest part of The Boys, in comics or live-action. After all, he’s just a hamster, a furry little fuzzball that most people met in the season three episode “Glorious Five-Year Plan.” But this insignificant rodent, and the way he’s used in both versions of the story, illustrate the cruel humor of the source material and the surprisingly humane story Eric Kripke and his collaborators are telling on television....
