In Hellbound, it is the realization that creatures that seem a lot like angels and demons exist and are coming to kill people. In The Leftovers, it is the sudden disappearance of 2% of the world’s population. Lesser shows—or at least more plot-driven shows—would focus on explaining the supernatural phenomena that start it all....
While viewers often cheer for Love and Joe to get away with murder, these types of kills are especially sweet. Gangs of London Don’t be misled by the title, said our reviewer, this Sky Original is no clichéd cockney geezer-pleaser. It’s a stunning, complex drama with an excellent cast, thrilling action and ambitious scope, and one of the very best shows to come out of the UK in recent years. It’s also extremely violent, so those of a sensitive disposition, consider yourself warned. Co-created by The Raid director Gareth Evans and Matt Flannery, it starts out as the story of London criminal kingpins the Wallace family, but quickly takes on a global dimension incorporating Albanian, Kurdish and Nigerian gangs....

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City may not cleanly break the dreaded “video game movie curse,” but it is packed with Easter eggs and references that will surely please long-time Resident Evil fans who feel that some of the previous big-screen adaptations of this franchise strayed too far from the source material.
