Muppets Now Episode 5 As we reach the fifth and penultimate episode of Muppets Now, my complaints about how tedious it’s getting are a bit deflated due to the wonderful news that after a four-episode stretch, there is no “Okey Dokey Kookin’” segment. Yes, there are still two appearances by the Swedish Chef here, but they’re both fresh and funny gags. They aren’t the same one-note joke stretched out for several minutes and repeated every week....

What happened in the woods in 1994? Only things go awry. After Kamila confronts Daniel and Monika, far from being penitent, Monika hits back at Kamila and calls her a ‘munter’. Yep. A munter. Hilarious because most Americans and plenty of Europeans (correct us in the comments) haven’t got the foggiest what a ‘munter’ even is....
Several characters in Prime Video’s Night Sky awaken to the idea that something is missing in their lives, something to make them feel special. Even the elderly couple Franklin (JK Simmons) and Irene (Sissy Spacek) who have kept secret a portal to another planet under their shed struggle to glean its purpose. The show, then, has the same thematic dilemma of finding its hook beyond the Lost-like puzzle box narrative: why should we care about the stranger who shows up in the couple’s lives (Chai Hansen) and what effect he has on them?...
Be that as it may, Next of Kin—or Paranormal Activity 7 for those who are still keeping count—is really a different animal from the previous six movies in the saga. For starters, amateur filmmaking equipment has really made leaps and bounds in the last decade, particularly since the original and still spooky haunted house film, which was shot way back in 2007. But more than just the smoothness of the camera work, which is now shot by aspiring documentarians on GoPros, drones that appear and disappear at the film’s convenience, and even what looks like a phantom Steadicam, this movie feels only tangentially related to the mythology about demons and cursed family members from the original saga....

Take Arthur with you, she says. When Ada’s questioned about the wisdom of sending junkie Arthur into a warehouse filled with opium, she says that it’s not Arthur going, it’s his reputation....
“As part of their next-gen UPGRADE PROCESS, PlayStation offer a number of features designed to help you move from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5,” says Ubisoft in response to a question about upgrading games from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 “Backwards compatibility will be available for supported PlayStation 4 titles, but will not be possible for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, or PlayStation games.” Ubisoft does not elaborate on the meaning of this statement or whether this is Sony’s official stance on the matter of PS5 backward compatibility....

While the trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet showed off and teased many exciting new features, its highlight was arguably the introduction of the series’ new starter Pokémon. Almost everyone who tuned in was quickly enraptured by the new grass cat Sprigatito, the fire croc Fuecoco, and the Donald Duck-lookalike Quaxly. These new Pokémon have spawned a ton of fan art, and gamers are already discussing which one they will pick when the new Pokémon game launches later this year (hopefully)....

That’s all it takes for Riverdale, The CW’s oh-so stylish blend of post-Gossip Girlteen drama and Twin Peaks-inspired mystery, to have Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) begin making out. Although it’s dropped the number from its title, don’t let the new Scream fool you: this is Scream 5 through and through, set 10 years after the last film and featuring plenty of the legacy characters you’d expect to see. Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett–taking over for the late, dearly missed Wes Craven–previously hinted that this one will subvert the franchise even more than usual. And it does. Shameless Season 10 Episode 8 “Why would you want to do good?” Shameless season 10 has been rife with change, but “Debbie Might Be A Prostitute” sees many characters wrestling with serious decisions about their futures as they also come to terms with their past. Their run, and Duane Swierczynski and Travel Foreman’s follow ups, introduced a sprawling backstory to the Iron Fist mythos that included the long history of Iron Fists – a title given to the protector of the mythical city of K’un L’un every generation, given that every Iron Fist dies at the age of 33....
The MCU corrected an outdated racist offense within the Shang-Chi comics canon through Iron Man 3, but the casting of Tony Leung as the “real” Mandarin in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings caused some initial trepidation. However, it’s proven to be another brilliant spin on behalf of the MCU. Firstly, the character is not the Mandarin at all. He’s Wenwu, an ancient immortal who disdainfully dismisses that ridiculous Mandarin moniker....
Of the original Avengers, Hulk seemed to be the most tragic. Exposed to radiation against his will, forced to transform into an uncontrollable beast, hunted down by his girlfriend’s father. Things seemed rough for ol’ Bruce Banner. But after Avengers: Endgame, Bruce seems in better shape than the other five. Sure, Steve got to go back in time and get that dance, but now in his twilight years, he’s spending a lot more time spreading haemorrhoid cream on America’s ass....

Shudder is rolling out a brand new batch of exclusive and/or original programming, including the second season of its acclaimed Creepshow series, the premiere of a new series of original short films called Deadhouse Dark, the highly anticipated sequel to its In Search of Darkness documentary, the return of The Last Drive-in with Joe Bob Briggs, and the 2021 Fangoria Chainsaw Awards....
