Despite what those looking for clear answers after that ending might hope, The Little Things is not based on any specific true story or serial killer investigation. It was a 1993 screenplay penned by writer-director John Lee Hancock. However, there are similarities to several well known cases. The film even mentions the Night Stalker, aka Richard Ramirez, all while stopping short of naming names or committing to a specific lethal predator in its own yarn....

It’s a pity then that The Nun is pretty much a failure, especially since it comes armed with regular Conjuring Universe screenwriter Gary Dauberman (who has also adapted both It and its upcoming second chapter) and two solid actors in Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story) and Demian Bichir (Alien: Covenant). Director Corin Hardy (The Hallow) also gets the atmosphere and setting right: taking place at a remote, isolated Romanian abbey in 1952, the film puffs out enough billowing fog to fill up a dozen Hammer movies and the abbey itself is a unnerving maze of twisting corridors and rooms filled with rotting relics....

The Predator franchise has had its ups and downs through the years, but it has always offered a unique take on the monster genre. The reason the movies have been canned is because Andrew Lincoln is instead returning in his own six-episode miniseries, along with Danai Gurira, to wrap up Rick and Michonne’s story after their departures from the main show. The duo made a surprise appearance at the panel with Walking Dead creative chief Scott Gimple to make the announcement. The show, which doesn’t have a title yet, will premiere sometime in 2023, joining other The Walking Dead spinoff series, such as Isle of the Dead, which will star Jeffrey Dean Moran and Lauren Cohan as Negan and Maggie respectively, and an untitled Daryl Dixon sequel series set to star Norman Reedus....

The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 13 When it comes to guest stars, someone over at The Walking Dead is a big fan of The Terminator franchise of movies. In Season 10’s bonus episode, “One More,” the venerable T-1000 himself, Robert Patrick, shows up. Patrick’s turn as the intimidating, dangerous, psychologically-damaged man known as Mays (and his brother Mays) was one of the highlights of the bonus episodes. It’s unsurprising that Patrick, who has become a sci-fi icon, would show up and make a big impression in 25 minutes of screen time....

Publicly saying what one means being a vanishing habit in an election month, there was something refreshingly sincere about The War Of The Worlds’ finale. This story has been told with a zealot’s insistence on its lessons. Subtlety and prevarication haven’t been its modes; its point has been made through emphasis and repetition. It’s a decent point to make: hubris, jingoism and unquestioning faith are roads to nowhere; science is where the answers lie....

Perhaps even those who haven’t read The Witcher novels by Andrzej Sapkowski or played the CD Projekt video games can tell that it has something to do with Ciri. Nilfgaard invaded Cintra for a reason beyond a simple land grab, and Yennefer scolds Fringilla, the empire’s head sorceress, saying, “Your precious leader is after something; you’re a pawn to get to it.” It’s no coincidence that the trailer shows Ciri at that point before switching to Yennefer’s point of view....

Those who have read the Andrzej Sapkowski books know exactly where all this is headed, of course, but even those new to The Witcher universe will remember that in season 1, it was revealed that Ciri was promised to Geralt by the Law of Surprise, a custom that repays a life debt with a prize possessed but yet unknown. So I get Twilight.
