The director and visual effects designer, who passed away on February 8 at the age of 79, had a hand in creating the screenscapes for some of the most influential genre films of all time, including 2001: A Space Odyssey, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Blade Runner. He pioneered techniques that allowed those films and many others to visualize the vastness of space, the magnificence of alien spacecraft and the eeriness of dystopian futures with a sense of scale and realism that elevated sci-fi cinema beyond its reputation as a dumping ground for hoary, cheap-looking B-movies once and for all....

Thankfully there’s a small silver lining. The show isn’t quite over yet. There are still a few episodes left to air and hopefully they’ll provide some closure to DuckTales’ many long running story arcs. But how many episodes are there and when will they air? Well the statement from Disney about DuckTales’ cancellation does hold some clues. It says that DuckTales will run for 75 episodes. So far only 65 episodes have aired which at first glance makes it seem like we’d be getting ten more....

Billed as an open-world action-RPG, Arceus promises to take us back to the very early days of the Sinnoh region. According to a description shared by the game’s developers, Arceus will let us “catch wild pokémon” after studying their behaviors and waiting for the right moment. Furthermore, the game will let us “battle wild pokémon with our ally pokémon” as part of a new combat system that lets us “seamlessly enter battle” in a way that wasn’t always possible in the more turn-based combat systems of previous Pokémon titles....

You may think the answer to that question is “Yes, of course they should,” but things are rarely that simple when it comes to Resident Evil adaptations and their relationship to the games. Just look at the Milla Jovovich-led Resident Evil movies. They may have used the Resident Evil name, but they’re about as far removed from the franchise canon as you can get without simply starting a new series To be fair, even the Resident Evil games have sometimes struggled to keep the canon straight....

J.K. Simmons has revealed that he’s signed up to star in further Marvel-Sony Spider-Man movies as J. Jonah Jameson. The Oscar-winning actor famously reprised his role from Sam Raimi’s web-slinging trilogy in last summer’s MCU instalment, Spider-Man: Far From Home – albeit in a twisted new way, leaving hard copy behind and outing Peter Parker as Spider-Man on a live dailybugle.net stream during a mid-credits scene. Likely due to a combination of iron-clad NDAs and uncertainly around the current industry timeline, Simmons says that both he and fans of the character should dial down their excitement for now, and when it comes to any of the planned Marvel movies in the pipeline, he doesn’t think we should necessarily expect to see Jameson pop up....
