While it’s hard to imagine James Gunn’s recent balls-to-the-wall DC movie The Suicide Squad without its tragic villain Starro now, the director almost pit his team of complex anti-heroes against the Man of Steel, but the uncertain status of the DCEU and question marks over Henry Cavill’s future in it as Superman became sticking points. “There was a time when I thought The Suicide Squad should fight Superman,” Gunn revealed in a new interview with Script Apart, adding his reasoning for for not picking Superman was that “At the time, there were a lot of questions like, ‘Who is Superman in the DCEU?...

Anyone watching a Friday the 13th movie today comes to the classic slasher franchise with more than a few expectations. They want to see Jason Voorhees, of course, complete with his hockey mask and machete. But they likely also want to see some intellectually-challenged teens (played by people in their late 20s and early 30s) get torn apart by a lumbering monster they could never hope to stop. It may surprise some Friday neophytes to learn that as formulaic as the series may be, not every entry contains all of those expected elements....

Now that the smoke has cleared and all those dark troopers have felt the heat from Luke’s green blade, we can finally reflect on the legendary Jedi’s debut on The Mandalorian. As exciting as the finale’s biggest moment was, Luke’s cameo proved to be a divisive one among Star Wars fans despite it hardly being all that surprising. Creator Seth MacFarlane and his team accomplished an amazing third season with The Orville: New Horizons, and did so with so many outside factors affecting production. Despite the pandemic, interruptions in filming, and Fox being bought by Disney, season three is arguably the show’s strongest season in terms of storytelling. Most notably, the writers often seemed as if they were playing the “long game,” setting up new plots for the future, and incorporating several throwbacks from previous episodes....

I’ve spent the last two weeks with the Xbox Series X, testing out everything from its excellent load times and 4K 60fps visuals to its backward compatibility and game-changing Quick Resume feature. Throughout my time with the console, one thing I didn’t encounter was any major overheating issue. At the very least, there was never a moment when I had to nervously glance at my fire extinguisher while using the console....
