British born Leo Suter portrays Harald Sigurdsson in Vikings: Valhalla. Sigurdsson, nicknamed Harald Hardrada, lived a bit later than the other characters on this show. He was a renowned warrior in his youth who fought across Europe for different kings and emperors. He then became king of Norway. He is best known in English history as the last great Viking to lead an invasion of England. But he wasn’t successful—he was killed in the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066, fighting against the Anglo-Saxon King Harold Godwinson....

Vikings Season 5 Episode 9 On the one hand, it’s easy to view the events of “A Simple Story” as the calm before the storm, but nothing comes easily on Vikings. In the other corner is The White Vision, hatefully brought back to life by billions upon billions of the U.S. government’s dollars (and some fairy dust). The two Visions’ battle takes them through every corner of the hex surrounding Westview, destroying oodles of property in the process....

While Kojima says the full reveal of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is still “weeks away,” the fact that Death Stranding is not only coming to PS5 but is getting a director’s cut is more than enough to excite fans of one of the PS4’s most fascinating (if divisive) exclusives. Having said that, it’s hard not to laugh a little bit at the idea of Death Stranding getting a director’s cut in the first place....

It remains to be seen if Dune will win Best Picture at the 2022 Oscars. For certain fans of science fiction cinema, it certainly feels like it should. Just like the novel it adapts, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune is more than just a good science fiction story, it’s a good movie first and a good science fiction film second. This means that arguably it’s a good Dune adaptation third. Although the 2000 Sci-Fi Channel version of Dune was pretty faithful to the text, it wasn’t a crowd-pleaser....

The urge to watch Love Actually became even stronger in 2022, when ABC announced it was airing a brand-new documentary The Laughter and Secrets of Love Actually: 20 Years Later, a nostalgic two-hour reunion featuring Emma Thompson, Hugh Grant, Laura Linney, Bill Nighy and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. (And yes, we’re choosing to gloss over the fact that it’s technically one year early, as Love Actually was released in 2003, aka the year of epic Christmas movies....

Poe. Netflix announced today that Flanagan and producing partner Trevor Macy will be shepherding a new limited series called The Fall of the House of Usher, based on Poe’s titular short story along with a handful of his other works. This is the fifth horror series that Flanagan and Macy have brought to Netflix after Hill House, Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, and the upcoming The Midnight Club....

Bridgerton season one ended with romantic leads Daphne and Simon married and at peace (having worked out their issues in time for their sex life to actually bear issue) and with Anthony Bridgerton in crisis and cued-up to lead the next season. The Viscount’s opera singer mistress had moved on, having made the tough decision for them both in the knowledge that Anthony’s offer of a society-defying marriage could never work for a man of his responsibilities....

Today, NBC announced that Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s upcoming eighth season will be its final. Not only that, but the episodes won’t premiere during this TV season as expected but rather during the 2021-22 season and feature an abbreviated 10-episode run. As is tradition, however, showrunner Dan Goor’s statement to the press still began and ended with a joke. “I’m so thankful to NBC and Universal Television for allowing us to give these characters and our fans the ending they deserve,” Goor said....

Its been reported that Kathryn Hahn’s popular WandaVision villain, Agatha Harkness, is getting her own “dark comedy” spinoff series at Disney+, and like a lot of Marvel fans out there I’m hyped. Agatha is arguably the most deliciously fun villain the MCU has had to offer since Loki, and she even came equipped with her own catchy theme song. I can’t wait to see more Agatha, and I can’t wait to see Marvel have another stab at a villain-led MCU project, but I’m still a little apprehensive about what direction the show will take after watching Loki....

The Mandalorian season 2 closed in exciting fashion with “The Rescue,” an episode that brings Mando and all of his friends face to face with the formidable Imperial forces of Moff Gideon. But after blasting through stormtroopers, only just avoiding a platoon of angry dark troopers (with the help of a very special guest), and capturing Gideon, the crew complete their mission to save Grogu. By the end of the episode, it seems clear that the group’s next objective is to take back Mandalore....

Indeed, The Last of Us wasted no time declaring its intentions to change the landscape of video game storytelling thanks to the power of the game’s immersive, thrilling, emotionally traumatizing prologue. That unforgettable intro sets the tone for the rest of the game in ways both subtle and spectacular. Each tense scene in that sequence builds in a fiery crescendo toward the hushed, devastating final moments. It plays out like a short film, though The Last of Us puts you at the dead center of the story in a way that no movie ever could....

It’s funny, but I’ve found that even some of those who grew up with the Game Boy can still be thrown off by the impact of its display. You probably remember that the original Game Boy’s screen was green, but you may have forgotten just how overwhelmingly green the handheld’s screen truly was. It’s just such an off-putting and unappealing (at least by modern standards) color choice that Nintendo obviously never really tried to repeat....

Remember when Jim Halpert shouted down the phone at his wife Pam and made her cry when she accidentally didn’t record their daughter’s dance recital that he couldn’t go to because he was in Philadelphia (working at the company that he had invested in behind wife’s back)? Wasn’t it terrible? Rewatching The Office: A US Workplace is problematic for many reasons; some parts of the show are uncomfortable to watch now (‘Diversity Day’, ‘Gay Witch Hunt’, basically most of what is said to Oscar… even Prison Mike makes me shift in my seat a bit these days)....

With the conclusion of The Umbrella Academy’s third season, the show finds itself in some uncharted territory. Not only is the Hargreeves family once again lost in parts unknown, trying to find their way in a new-ish reality without their powers, but so too is the plot without a road map for the first time. While each of The Umbrella Academy’s first three seasons has roughly corresponded to one of the three volumes of Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá’s comic series, the show has no volume four to draw from....

A new report by GamesIndustry.biz shows that Nintendo Switch remains the most popular console in Europe, while the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X lag noticeably behind. However, that report also reveals that the Xbox Series X/S product line recently outsold the PS5 in Europe for the first time since those next-gen consoles were released. While that kind of swing in sales typically follows the release of a major new exclusive or some other drastic change in the marketplace, the explanation for Xbox’s seemingly sudden success is considerably simpler....

According to Starfield director Todd Howard, players will be able to land on and explore thousands of planets. Even better, the game supposedly won’t limit your exploration to just one or two small primary locations. For example, the planet Jemison will house the bustling city of New Atlantis, which will actually serve as a major hub throughout the game experience. However, Starfield players will get to explore much more of that planet’s Earth-like surface....
