The Last Duel is based on a book of the same name that tells the story of the Norman knight Jean de Carrouges and squire Jacque Le Gris who were best friends, mirroring the friendship of Damon and Affleck, who were originally set to play the lead roles in addition to working on the screenplay together with writer Nicole Holofcener (Can You Ever Forgive Me?). Unfortunately, scheduling conflicts arose due to Affleck’s prior commitment to Deep Water (a film he stars in alongside Ana De Armas)....

On screen, Steve Carell’s departure from The Office was pretty perfect. His farewell episode ‘Goodbye, Michael’ and those running up to it, were emotional and satisfying. They showed branch manager Michael Scott finally getting the love he’d always craved, and crucially, deserving it too. Once a thin-skinned, desperate-for-approval man-child, Michael had been redeemed into somebody who didn’t take himself too seriously and no longer needed the spotlight. After a long, hard (that’s what she said) journey, his future with Amy Ryan’s adorably dorky character Holly Flax was set....

Her return, however, coincides with Harold Lauder (Owen Teague) and Nadine Cross (Amber Heard) successfully pulling off their plan to stage a terrorist attack in the Free Zone, detonating a bomb in Abigail’s house that results in the death of Boulder leader and Abigail’s “voice,” the deaf, mute and partially blind Nick Andros (Henry Zaga)....

Screen adaptations of H.G. Wells’ The War Of The Worlds are like buses – they’d be better if they stank less. No, sorry. It’s because you wait around for one for ages and then two come at once. An eight-part modern-day reimagining from Fox and Canal+ is currently airing in France, overlapping with this three-part BBC adaptation in the UK. Another week, another joyous set of behind the scenes images from Taika Waititi’s highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe fourquel, Thor: Love and Thunder! Having already seen Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on set in their new costumes last month, filming on Thor 4 continues over in Australia, with Waititi getting more of his Thor: Ragnarok gang back together for another dramatic retelling of Thor’s recent past. Matt Damon, Luke Hemsworth and Sam Neill have all been spotted on the set of Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder performing yet another play as the ‘actors’ depicting Loki, Thor and Odin, just as they did during a wild moment at the beginning of Thor: Ragnarok when Thor finally discovered that Loki had been posing as Odin (Anthony Hopkins) on Asgard for quite some time....

Headlining is indie auteur Kevin Smith, the man who directed Clerks, Mallrats and most recently Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.
